Carbon E-Bike Weight: Battery, Accessories & Buying Guide
Compare a carbon e-bike's complete weight on the same basis as the other bike on your shortlist. A frame-only figure, a bike weighed without its battery and a bike equipped for riding answer different questions. The word “carbon” does not tell you which parts were on the scale.
Two current NexaEbike carbon commuter listings provide a useful example. Both have 350W torque-sensing pedal assistance and a removable 352.8Wh battery. Before choosing between them, separate the frame configuration you prefer from the weight specification you need.

Why one model can have three different weight figures
The Urtopia Carbon 1 Pro specification page lists 41 lb as “Bike Weight.” It separately lists net weights of 38 lb with the battery and 33 lb without it. Its note excludes accessories such as the rack, kickstand, fenders and pedals from net weight, and states a weight tolerance below 5%.
The manufacturer's Carbon 1 Step-Thru page uses the same three weight figures and exclusion note. These are published specifications, not measurements made by NexaEbike. The store's Step-Thru listing states a bike weight of 41 lb.
Keep each number beside its definition. The lower net figure is not a promise that an equipped bike delivered to you weighs that amount. Confirm which figure and included equipment match the selected size and order; this guide does not assign a precise ready-to-ride weight to every variant.
Two current carbon commuter configurations
| Item | Carbon commuter step-over | Carbon commuter step-through |
|---|---|---|
| Product reference | Urtopia Carbon 1 Pro | Urtopia Carbon 1 Step-Thru |
| Frame and fork | Carbon frame and rigid carbon fork | Carbon frame and rigid fork |
| Motor and sensing | 350W, torque sensing | 350W rated rear hub, torque sensing |
| Battery | Removable 352.8Wh | Removable 352.8Wh |
| Gearing and brakes | Shimano eight-speed; hydraulic discs | Shimano eight-speed; hydraulic discs |
| Throttle | None in this configuration | None in this configuration |
| Listed options | Matte Black or Cream; Small, Medium, Large | Matte Black, Cream or Glacier Blue |
The step-over commuter offers a choice of three listed frame sizes. The step-through model provides a different frame-entry layout. Pick a suitable configuration first, then obtain its weight basis. Identical headline weight figures do not establish identical fit or handling.

Five labels to keep separate
| Weight label | Question before using it |
|---|---|
| Frame-only | Does it exclude the fork and every installed component? |
| Without battery | Which other components and accessories remain fitted? |
| With battery | Are pedals, rack, fenders and kickstand also included? |
| Equipped for your ride | What is fitted, and are your lock, bag and other carried items accounted for separately? |
| Shipping or package weight | Does it include packaging, the charger or loose accessories? |
This is a comparison worksheet, not a claim that every seller uses these labels consistently. If an advertisement just says “net weight,” ask for its definition. Retain the answer with the model, size, specification date and market so that you can compare like with like.
A simple way to avoid an unfair comparison
Imagine one shortlist entry is labeled “with battery, without accessories” and another is labeled “bike weight” with no equipment list. Do not rank them yet. Request the missing list, then place both on the same basis. If the supplier cannot clarify a figure, mark it as unconfirmed instead of filling the gap with an estimate.
The same rule applies within one model family. Do not subtract the rounded 33 lb and 38 lb figures above and treat the result as a measured replacement-battery weight. Nor should a difference between a net number and a headline number be treated as a verified weight for the rack or other individual accessories.
When a small difference matters to your decision, ask whether an actual bike in your selected size can be weighed with its fitted equipment documented. Record whether the result is a catalog claim or a measurement of that particular bicycle.

Choose equipment before chasing the lowest number
List what your normal ride requires: a particular frame entry, the appropriate size, your preferred gears, and any equipment you expect to carry. Then ask for the weight of that configuration. Removing a needed part from a comparison sheet can produce a smaller number without producing a more suitable purchase.
For these two listings, the removable battery and eight-speed drivetrain are relevant purchase facts alongside the carbon frame. Their shared battery capacity does not establish equal route range, and this article has not tested either model's climbing, comfort or unassisted riding.
Material alone also cannot establish that one complete model is lighter than every aluminum alternative. A meaningful comparison would identify the specific other bike and match its size and equipment basis. This guide makes no material-strength, lifespan or environmental ranking.
Questions to resolve before ordering
- Which exact model, size and regional configuration does the weight describe?
- Is the battery included, and are pedals and other fitted accessories included?
- Is the number a published claim, a range or a measurement of the supplied bike?
- What equipment is supplied with this store order, and which items are optional?
- Does the selected frame fit you independently of its weight?
Use the store listing to confirm the selected order. A manufacturer's separate promotion, gift package or accessory image does not automatically describe what is supplied by NexaEbike.
Frequently asked questions
Does “with battery” mean ready to ride?
Not necessarily. The manufacturer example above excludes accessories, including pedals, from its net-weight figures. Check both the battery status and the equipment list.
Is a carbon e-bike always lighter than an aluminum e-bike?
A material label does not establish a result for two complete bicycles. Compare the exact models on the same basis.
Is 33 lb the delivered weight of these equipped bikes?
No such claim is established here. That is the manufacturer's net figure without the battery and with the stated accessory exclusions.
Which carbon frame should I choose?
Compare the step-over size options and step-through entry against your fit needs, then verify the selected configuration and weight basis. This guide does not provide a personal fit guarantee.
